How We Collect and Use Your Information

At TD Ameritrade we value your privacy and do not collect any information from you other than as necessary to enable you to use and enjoy the features of amtd.com (the "Site"). Through your use of the Site, session cookies collect the IP address of your computer, browser type, the application you use to access the Site (i.e., browser or mobile) operating system, your mobile device, device ID, the state or country from which you accessed this Site (based on IP address), the date and the time of a visit, the number of links you click within this Site, the features you use on this Site and the searches you request on this Site. We cannot identify you from this information. You may limit some of the information you provide by clearing your cookies using the tips in our cookie policy below. However, for cookies that are essential to the functionality of this Site, you may be unable to view or use certain features on this Site if you do so.

If you engage with our social media or other sharing functions on the Site, we obtain aggregated metrics about your use generally and cannot see your social media profiles as a result. Please note that anything you share on social media can be viewed by anyone that can otherwise see that page and will be subject to the privacy policies of those social media platforms. Any link that takes you to another website, including those run by TD Ameritrade, will also be subject to that page's privacy policy and practices and may require you to provide personal information.

We use the information we collect to understand our investors' engagement with our services and provide you with news and updates about TD Ameritrade and its affiliates. This information is aggregated and cannot be used to identify you directly. If you access the Site from the European Economic Area, we may also store your geographic location in a cookie so that we do not collect information about your use of the Site. We do not share this information other than to provide you with the Site and better tailor the Site's offerings.

If you contact us via email or telephone, we may retain that information and the substance of those communications for quality assurance purposes, to comply with regulations and to address questions or disputes.

Cookie Policy

We and selected third parties use cookies to improve our offerings and the Site, and to provide more convenient and relevant experiences to you. Cookies are designed to transfer a small amount of data to your browser by servers within a domain. That data is only read by designated servers within that domain. It functions as your computer's identification card and enables us to improve your experience by securely maintaining your preferences.

Most internet browsers are set up to accept cookies automatically. You can set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie, allowing you to decide whether or not to accept it. If you choose not to accept cookies or similar devices will probably not be able to access those pages or their products and services. If you want to disable cookies in the Safari web browser, go to Preferences and then to the Privacy pane and choose to block cookies. On your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch, go to Settings, then Safari, and then to the Cookies section. For other browsers, check with your provider to find out how to disable cookies. Because cookies are used throughout our site, disabling them may prevent you from using certain parts of the site.
