Tim Hockey, President and CEO

Tim Hockey is a financial services veteran who has more than 35 years' experience in retail banking and wealth management and a passion for leveraging technology to enhance the client experience.

As President and CEO of TD Ameritrade, he is responsible for the oversight of the strategy and operations supporting the company's three client channels: Retail Investing, Trading and Institutional, along with additional responsibilities overseeing Technology, Operations and Corporate functions.

Hockey joined TD Ameritrade in January 2016 from TD Bank Group, where he most recently served as Group Head, Canadian Banking and Wealth Management, and as President and CEO of TD Canada Trust. His primary responsibilities covered a portfolio of global businesses totaling nearly CDN $13 billion in annual revenue and included global direct investing, advisory and Canadian asset management businesses, as well as leadership of Canadian personal banking, business banking and auto finance. Having started as a part-time teller while in University, over his 32-year career with TD he has held progressively senior positions in a variety of areas including mutual funds, retail distribution, information technology, deposit accounts, small business banking, credit cards and personal lending.

Hockey holds a master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario and sits on the Advisory Board of the Richard Ivey School of Business. He is also a member of SIFMA's Board of Directors. Hockey served on the Board of Directors for the SickKids Foundation, the largest non-governmental granting agency in children's health in Canada, and was Chair of the Hospital for Sick Children's Research and Learning Tower Campaign. He is on the board of The Greater Toronto CivicAction Alliance and also serves as the Chair of the CivicAction Leadership Foundation, having played a pivotal role in the creation of the foundation. As an avid cyclist, he served as the 2015 Honorary Chair for the Ride to Conquer Cancer for the Princess Margaret Hospital.

He was an executive member of the Canadian Bankers Association, previously serving as Chair of the organization. He is also a past winner of Canada's "Top 40 Under 40," a program that celebrates Canadians who have reached significant success before the age of 40 in the private, public, and not-for-profit sectors.



Denise Karkos, Chief Marketing Officer

As Chief Marketing Officer, Denise Karkos is responsible for the overall management of TD Ameritrade's marketing and advertising to the Long-term Investor, Trader, and Advisor segments.

In this role, she leads segment strategy, brand and advertising, social media and content marketing, marketing analytics, marketing technology and operations, and corporate communications. She serves as a member of the company's Senior Operating Committee, which shapes the strategic focus of the organization. Karkos has also served as Managing Director of Brand and Advertising and Managing Director of Retail segment strategy within the firm.

Prior to joining TD Ameritrade in 2010, Karkos spent four years with TD Bank as the Senior Vice President of Marketing Planning. In this role, she managed the Retail marketing strategy and helped grow the business organically and through acquisitions.

She had early career experience in media planning and buying with a focus on digital at Initiative Media, Hill Holliday, and Digitas. Karkos also drove broader marketing strategies, focusing on advertising, CRM, branding, and partnership marketing at L.L.Bean, Outside Television, and VIA.

Karkos was elected as a new member of the Ad Council's Board of Directors in 2016. Throughout her career, she has received multiple marketing honors, including an Adweek Brand Genius and a Clio, as well as numerous Webby, ADDY, and Financial Communications Society (FCS) awards. Her more recent accolades include a 2015 Advertising Women of New York Changing the Game Award in the Paradigm Shift category and a 2016 Cojones Award, presented to her at South by Southwest.

Karkos received a bachelor's degree in Marketing from the University of Notre Dame.


Vijay Sankaran, Chief Information Officer

As Chief Information Officer of TD Ameritrade, Vijay Sankaran is responsible for incubating, introducing, and managing new capabilities, as well as for the implementation of the company's data and analytics ecosystem, including bringing enhanced personalization to the client experience. Sankaran also serves as a member of the company's Senior Operating Committee, which shapes the strategic focus of the organization.

Sankaran's teams are further responsible for two major technology programs at the company: Digital Guidance, which utilizes technology to enhance clients' access to investment advice, and ongoing innovation for the company's award-winning trading platform, thinkorswim®. He leads TD Ameritrade's collaborative technology center in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Prior to joining TD Ameritrade, Sankaran held several senior leadership roles at Ford Motor Company, including: IT Chief Technology Officer, leading advanced technology, technology strategy, data and analytics, and architecture across the enterprise; Director of Application Development, with responsibility for global application development and the delivery of major programs and projects; and Director of Infrastructure Operations, with responsibility for operational support for infrastructure, as well as Ford's largest data centers in North America. Before joining Ford, Sankaran served in consultancy roles with Ernst & Young LLP and Headstrong, where he focused heavily on analytical systems.

Sankaran holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a master's degree of Business Administration from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business.


Skip Schweiss, President, TD Ameritrade Trust Company

Skip Schweiss is responsible for all TD Ameritrade Trust Company functions, including retirement solutions and services for independent Registered Investment Advisors and third-party administrators using TD Ameritrade's trust platform. Skip is also the Managing Director of Advisor Advocacy & Industry Affairs. In this role, he is charged with increasing TD Ameritrade Institutional's participation and voice in the financial services industry, and identifying key issues of importance to TD Ameritrade Institutional and its advisor clients.

Schweiss previously held a variety of management positions within Fiserv Investment Support Services, including serving as Executive Vice President of Fiserv Trust Company, which was acquired by TD Ameritrade Holding Corporation in February 2008.

Schweiss holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of South Dakota and an MS in Finance from the University of Colorado. He has completed the Securities Industry Institute® executive development program sponsored by the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) at the Wharton School of Business. He is currently Series 7 and Series 24 licensed, and is a member of the Financial Planning Association.


JJ Kinahan, Chief Market Strategist, Managing Director

JJ Kinahan is a more than 30-year trading veteran who began his career as a Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) market maker in 1985, trading primarily in the S&P 100 (OEX) and S&P 500 (SPX) pits.

While spending his time there primarily as an independent market maker, he also worked for ING Bank and Blue Capital, and was Managing Director of Options Trading for Van der Moolen, USA. In 2006, Kinahan joined the thinkorswim Group, which was eventually acquired by TD Ameritrade.

Kinahan oversees market structure at TD Ameritrade and leads the firm's client advocacy efforts on Capitol Hill, where he voices the needs of retail investors. Kinahan is also a CNBC regular, a Forbes contributor and is frequently quoted in The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times and by Reuters News, along with many other respected media outlets. He is a CBOE Advisory Member and SIFMA Options Committee member. His licenses include the 3, 4, 7, 24, and 66.

Steve Quirk, Executive Vice President, Trading and Education

Steve Quirk oversees the strategy and deployment of initiatives for Trading at TD Ameritrade. He also serves as a member of the company's Senior Operating Committee, which shapes the strategic focus of the organization.

Under Quirk's leadership, TD Ameritrade debuted the Investor Movement Index® (IMXSM), a proprietary, behavior-based index that aggregates Main Street investor positions and activity. Quirk focuses on teaching the next generation of investors and has championed the creation of the TD Ameritrade U program to bridge the gap between academia and reality.

Prior to his current role, Quirk was responsible for the development of new trading tools and technology enhancements for the thinkorswim® trading platform.

Quirk's trading career began in 1987 on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE). While at the CBOE, he served on the exchange's Index Market Performance Committee and the Arbitration Committee. He was a partner with SCMS for seven years, trading options on index products. He also led the Chicago operations of Van der Moolen USA.

He is often asked to comment on the markets and for insight into Retail client behavior and has been featured on CNBC, Fox Business, Barron's  and The Wall Street Journal.

Quirk graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a BBA in Risk/Insurance and Marketing. He holds Series 3, 4, 7, and 24 licenses.



Lee McAdoo, Managing Director, Investor Education

Lee McAdoo is the Managing Director of Investor Education at TD Ameritrade and has been with the firm for 10 years.

Throughout her career, she has had roles in Management Consulting, Sales & Marketing, Media, and Learning & Development. McAdoo holds an MBA from Columbia Business School in Marketing and Management and a BA from McGill University in English and Economics.



Lule Demmissie, Managing Director, Investment Products and Guidance

Lule Demmissie is responsible for strategic development and analysis of investment products and guidance for TD Ameritrade.

Demmissie was most recently with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, working for eight years in its managed money business area. Demmissie designed and launched Morgan Stanley's non-discretionary Advisory product, which raised over $12 billion in assets within its first two years. She also played a key role in the strategic development of Morgan Stanley's other investment product offerings.

Demmissie also has several years of experience with J.P. Morgan and Merrill Lynch, along with a strong background in client services, product development and product management.

Demmissie earned an MBA from Columbia Business School and also holds a CIMA® designation from the Investments & Wealth Institute (formerly known as the Investment Management Consultants Association, or IMCA).


Dara Luber, Senior Manager, Retirement

Dara Luber is a Senior Manager of Retirement at TD Ameritrade, where she is responsible for the management and development of retirement strategy and investment services.

With nearly 18 years of experience in the financial services industry, Luber has several years of service with Morgan Stanley and Citigroup Asset Management. She earned a BS in Marketing Management from the State University of New York at Albany.


Christine Russell, Senior Manager, Retirement and Annuities

As a Senior Manager of Retirement and Annuities, Christine Russell is responsible for the development and management of retirement products, tools, and services at TD Ameritrade, with a particular focus on retirement income planning.

Before joining TD Ameritrade, Russell founded and managed a retirement consulting firm, Christine Russell Retirement Consulting, where she developed marketing and business-building programs for IRA and 401(k) plan products. Russell has over two decades of experience in the financial services industry, including running a full-service 401(k) business at Wilmington Trust, overseeing a Large Market 401(k) team at Vanguard, and launching the New Beginnings Retirement Income initiative at Bank of New York Mellon/Dreyfus Investments.

Russell earned her BA in Policy and Management at Dickinson College. She holds several retirement designations, including the QPA and QKA through the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries, the AIF through the Center for Fiduciary Studies, and the RMA through the Retirement Income Industry Association. She is Series 7 licensed.


Matthew Sadowsky, Director, Retirement and Annuities

Matthew Sadowsky is Director of Retirement and Annuities at
TD Ameritrade, where he manages investment products, tools, and services. Sadowsky also serves as President of TD Ameritrade's insurance agency, overseeing the distribution of third-party annuity products.

Prior to joining TD Ameritrade, Sadowsky served as Vice President, Finance in the corporate offices at The BISYS Group, Inc., which provided business process outsourcing to bank, insurance, and investment companies, and later joined Columbus Circle Capital, where he specialized in annuity arbitrage and life insurance premium financing.

Sadowsky graduated cum laude with a dual degree in Philosophy and Entrepreneurial Management from the University of Pennsylvania's College of Arts and Sciences and Wharton School. He holds FINRA Series 7, 24, and 66 licenses, and he is Life and Health insurance-licensed nationally. Sadowsky is also a Retirement Income Certified Professional ("RICP®").


Tom Nally, President, TD Ameritrade Institutional

Tom Nally oversees the strategy and deployment of initiatives for the Advisor segment at TD Ameritrade. He also serves as a member of the company's Senior Operating Committee, which shapes the strategic focus of the organization.

Tom Nally is responsible for all business functions at TD Ameritrade Institutional. As President of TD Ameritrade Institutional, Nally sets the vision for key initiatives supporting independent Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs), a growing and dynamic segment of the wealth management industry. Nally has more than 20 years of experience working with advisors and leads a tenured team focused on serving more than 4,500 independent RIAs who custody assets with TD Ameritrade Institutional.

A recognized leader and advisor advocate, Nally was named to Investment Advisor magazine's annual list of the 25 most influential people in the industry in 2012 and 2014. Under Nally’s leadership, TD Ameritrade Institutional has experienced strong growth and has earned accolades for delivering innovative technology to help RIAs run and build their businesses. With a focus on the future, Nally has championed efforts to attract and support the next generation of advisors including launching the TD Ameritrade Institutional NextGen Scholarship and Grant Program and the TD Ameritrade RIA Intern Network.

Prior to being named President, Nally was responsible for TD Ameritrade Institutional Sales. Nally and his team developed new advisor relationships and provided practice management and consultative support to help RIAs achieve their business goals. Over his tenure, he has held multiple management positions in various key segments of the business, including responsibility for Trading, Fixed Income, Advisor Relations, Client Service, Advisor Technology, Account Services, and Operations.

Nally graduated from Rider University with a degree in Finance and completed the Securities Industry Institute program at the Wharton School of Business. In 2013, he completed Executive Education coursework at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Nally currently holds Series 7, 8, 24, and 63 licenses.


Peter Dorsey, Managing Director, Institutional Sales

Peter Dorsey oversees all institutional sales functions including advisor recruitment, practice management consulting, relationship management, and sales strategy for TD Ameritrade Institutional.

Dorsey previously served as Director of Sales responsible for the oversight and management of TD Ameritrade Institutional business development activities within the western region of the United States. He has been working in the institutional field, specifically with independent Registered Investment Advisors, for nearly 15 years. Prior to joining TD Ameritrade in 2005, Dorsey served in similar roles in the banking and brokerage industries.

Dorsey received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from St. Anselm College and a Masters of Business Administration from Pepperdine University's Graziadio School of Business and Management. He holds Series 7, 63, and 24 securities licenses.


Kate Healy, Managing Director, Generation Next

Kate Healy is Managing Director, Generation Next, focused on advocacy for sustainability issues facing the RIA industry. Healy leads TD Ameritrade Institutional's NextGen and Women's Leadership Initiatives, which support the future of the profession through programs designed to raise visibility, and provide support and resources to guide professional development of the next generation of advisors. She is a member of the company's Diversity & Inclusion committee.

Healy is widely recognized as a leading advocate for the next generation of financial planners, for women advisors, and for the financial planning profession. In 2016, InvestmentAdvisor  magazine named Healy as one of the industry's 25 most influential people. Healy was named to InvestmentNews'  inaugural "Women to Watch" in 2015. A year later Investment Advisor  put Healy on its annual list of the 25 most influential people in the industry. Additionally, she was TD Ameritrade's 2014 Impact Award winner for Diversity and Inclusiveness.

She is a trustee for the Foundation for Financial Planning, a member of the Invest in Others board, and is a founding member of CFP Board's Women's Initiative (WIN) Council and sits on the Center for Financial Planning's Advisory Council.

Healy has spent more than 20 years in a variety of roles supporting the program development and marketing of financial and estate planning services in the financial planning industry.

Before moving to her full-time advocacy role in July 2017, Healy was managing director of marketing for TD Ameritrade Institutional, responsible for the development of marketing strategies and programs to help increase awareness and deepen relationships with nearly 5,000 independent RIAs that custody with TD Ameritrade Institutional.

Healy, who joined TD Ameritrade in 2008, previously served as a Director of Marketing responsible for promoting the firm's technology and investment products offerings, as well as supporting the firm's advocacy and client loyalty efforts.

Healy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Rutgers College and has completed the Securities Industry Institute program, sponsored by the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) at the Wharton School of Business.



Jon Patullo, Managing Director, Technology Platform Management,
TD Ameritrade Institutional

Jon Patullo is responsible for all advisor-facing technology, products, and services for TD Ameritrade Institutional. These responsibilities include oversight of the Veo® platform, AdvisorClient® platform and third-party technology relationships.

Joining the company in 1996, Patullo has been focused on building and supporting technology products and services available to the institutional client base, and was critical in bringing proprietary and third-party tools and information to clients. He has held multiple management positions in customer support, electronic trading, content management, and product management.

Patullo graduated from Rider University with a degree in Finance and is based in Fort Worth, Texas. He holds Series 7, 9, 10, and 63 securities licenses.

George Tamer, Director, Strategic Relationships,
TD Ameritrade Institutional

George Tamer oversees a team that works to help independent advisors achieve their business goals by helping them implement industry best practices including marketing and business development, workflow processes, and technology usage.

Tamer joined the company in 1996, where he has held various management positions in online product development and client service. Tamer and his team have worked with many advisors to help improve productivity and become more efficient through the use of TD Ameritrade's technology platform.

He graduated with a BA in Political Science from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA, and holds an MBA in Marketing from Baruch College's Zicklin School of Business. Tamer is currently completing the Securities Industry Institute program, sponsored by the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association, at the Wharton School of Business.


John Tovar, Managing Director, Wealth Management Services,
TD Ameritrade Institutional

John Tovar oversees Wealth Management Services, which includes trading, fixed-income sales, relationship management, customer services, technology, account services and operations for over 46,000 independent Registered Investment Advisors who custody assets at TD Ameritrade Institutional.

John joined the company in 1992, and most recently was responsible for trading and fixed income for the Institutional business. Tovar has held a variety of roles over his 16-year tenure including key management positions in Retail Brokerage Services at Jack White & Company and National Retail Services at TD Waterhouse and ultimately in TD Waterhouse Institutional in 2000.

Tovar is based in Fort Worth, Texas, and is currently Series 3, 4, 7, 8, 24, 53, 63, and 65 licensed.
