Karen Ganzlin

Karen Ganzlin, Executive Vice President,
Chief Human Resources Officer

Karen Ganzlin is responsible for the overall management of Human Resources functions at TD Ameritrade, including associate (employee) relations, compensation and benefits, workforce policies and programs, talent acquisition, talent and organizational development, diversity and inclusion strategies, HR shared services and HR technology as well as the company's corporate real estate strategy and facilities, and executive and physical security. She also serves as a member of the company's Senior Operating Committee, which shapes the strategic focus of the organization.

Ganzlin previously served as Chair, Vice Chair and Secretary of the Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity Omaha and continues to serve on the Executive Committee. Habitat for Humanity focuses on building stronger communities by providing affordable and safe housing.

Prior to joining the company in 2005, Ganzlin was the Senior Vice President of Human Resources in Wealth Management with TD Bank Group (TDBG). In her career she has held numerous senior management positions with TDBG, including Vice President of Group Human Resources, Vice President of Group Operations and Director of Branch Services Operations. Prior to that, Ganzlin held administrative management positions within the commercial branch network in Alberta.

Ganzlin received a bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Calgary and completed the Executive Development Program from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University.

Steve Boyle, Interim President and Chief Executive Officer

As interim President and CEO of TD Ameritrade, Steve Boyle is responsible for the oversight of the strategy and operations supporting the company’s three client channels: Retail Investing, Trading, and Institutional, along with additional responsibilities overseeing Technology, Operations, and Corporate functions.

Boyle brings nearly 30 years' experience in financial services to this role. He joined Banknorth as Controller in 1997 and was named Executive Vice President and CFO in 2004. He remained in that role for the bank, which has since become TD Bank, America's Most Convenient Bank®, until joining TD Ameritrade in 2015, where he most recently served as Chief Financial Officer.

Prior to joining Banknorth, Boyle served as the Director of Financial Reporting for Barnett Banks, Inc. and served in a variety of accounting roles for Fleet Financial Group and Arthur Andersen & Co.

Boyle received a bachelor's degree in Economics, cum laude from Wake Forest University, and attended NYU Business School where he received a master's degree in Accounting. He is a professional member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Prashant Bhatia, Managing Director,
Enterprise Strategy & Corporate Development

Prashant Bhatia oversees corporate strategy, partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, business development, and industry and competitive analysis. He also serves as a member of the company's Senior Operating Committee, which shapes the strategic focus of the organization.

Bhatia has more than two decades of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining TD Ameritrade in 2009, Bhatia served as a Director in equity research at Citigroup, and before that he worked within the office of the Chairman for UBS America. He also spent time as a Finance Manager with Morgan Stanley & Co. and as a senior associate for Coopers & Lybrand L.L.P. His career experiences include: public accounting, Controller of an investment banking and equities division, corporate mergers and acquisitions, and equity analysis covering brokers, banks, and asset management firms.

Bhatia holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting from the University of Connecticut and received his MBA from Columbia Business School. He holds Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designations.

Peter deSilva, President, Retail

As President of TD Ameritrade's Retail business, Peter deSilva is responsible for providing strategic direction and support to more than 9 million retail investors with more than $650 billion in client assets. He oversees all facets of the Retail business including: Strategy, Branches and Sales, Investor Services, Analytics, Client Experience, Digital, Products, Partnerships and Supervision & Controls. DeSilva led these groups through the successful integration of Scottrade Financial Services, including the conversion of 3.9 million client accounts to TD Ameritrade following the company's acquisition of the broker-dealer in September 2017. He also serves as a member of the company's Senior Operating Committee, which shapes the strategic focus of the organization.

Prior to joining TD Ameritrade, deSilva led the Retail and Institutional divisions for Scottrade. Before joining Scottrade in 2016, he was the President and Chief Operating Officer of UMB Financial Corporation from 2004 to 2015. From 1987 to 2004, deSilva worked with Fidelity Investments, where he served in several leadership positions, including Senior Vice President/General Manager of Fidelity Retail and Senior Vice President of Fidelity Brokerage Company.

In addition to his vast knowledge of, and experience in, the financial services industry, deSilva is active in his community and a dedicated supporter of several non-profit organizations and national charitable foundations, including serving as trustee of The National WWI Museum and Memorial, MRI Global, and the Robert W. Plaster Foundation. He's also the former Chair of the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, past trustee of Park University, and 2010 Campaign Chair for United Way of Greater Kansas City, among many other civic and charitable activities.

DeSilva holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, and Series 7, 24, 63, and 66 securities licenses.

Kim Hillyer, Managing Director, Corporate Communications

Kim Hillyer leads a team of communicators at TD Ameritrade that work together to drive employee engagement, enhance brand awareness and client engagement, and build and protect corporate reputation. Her portfolio includes internal communications and channel strategy, media relations and financial communications, crisis communications, corporate events, and the company’s growing corporate responsibility program. As a member of the company’s Senior Operating Committee, she regularly provides counsel to TD Ameritrade’s executive leadership team, bringing the company’s mission to life for its diverse stakeholders through strategic communications and storytelling. She also sits on steering committees driving the company’s digital workplace evolution, as well as its purpose, values, and diversity and inclusion-related efforts.

Hillyer joined TD Ameritrade in 2004 as a first-level professional specializing in media relations, steadily advancing with increased oversight until assuming the Managing Director title in 2018. Over her tenure, Hillyer has developed, led and executed strategic communications programs supporting multiple merger and acquisition transactions and integrations, executive succession and reorganization, product launches and innovation, corporate sponsorships and activation for entities such as the National Football League and the U.S. Olympic Committee, natural disasters and industry news events, including the company’s response to the 2007-2011 financial crisis and recession.

Prior to joining TD Ameritrade, Hillyer served as the public relations coordinator for The Maids Home Services, a national domestic services franchisor. While there she was responsible for the implementation of national and localized media relations strategies supporting the company’s nationwide franchise network.

Hillyer holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, with concentrations in English, History and Political Science, from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She was named a member of the Omaha (Neb.) Midlands Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” class in 2011.

Spyro Karetsos, Chief Risk Officer

In partnership with business units across TD Ameritrade, Spyro Karetsos helps identify and manage the organization's credit, market, and operational risks. He also serves as a member of the company's Senior Operating Committee, which shapes the strategic focus of the organization.

Karetsos joined TD Ameritrade in 2019, bringing more than 20 years of financial services experience to the company. He most recently served as Head of Non-Financial Risk and Enterprise Risk Services for SunTrust Bank, with responsibility for Strategic Risk, Operational Risk, and Third-Party Risk. His work as architect of SunTrust's advanced risk appetite framework earned it Risk.net's 2018 Bank of the Year award.

Prior to SunTrust, Karetsos held leadership positions with Vanguard, Goldman Sachs, and spent 10 years in the Federal Reserve System, where he worked at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and became an Assistant Vice President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia.

A board member of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) and Discotech, Karetsos earned a Bachelor of Arts in Policy Studies from Dickinson College and a Master of Business Administration from Pace University. He also holds a certificate from the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin.

James Kostulias, Managing Director, Integration Management Office

As Managing Director of TD Ameritrade’s Integration Management Office, James Kostulias is responsible for leading integration planning and respective TD Ameritrade workstreams, in partnership with Charles Schwab. The Integration Management Office partners across all corporate areas, business lines and support functions to deliver the necessary projects, processes and platforms in support of the strategic planning of the combined firms.

Most recently, Kostulias was the Head of Retail Experience, where he was responsible for the execution of the firm’s Retail Strategy, Client Experience, Digital Platforms, Learning and Development, Client Segmentation and LEAN Strategy.

Kostulias has more than 22 years of experience in the financial services industry and has spent more than 16 of those years with TD Ameritrade across their Retail, Technology, and Active Trader businesses. He’s held a variety of leadership roles within the organization, including leading the TD Ameritrade and Scottrade Integration where he was responsible for all aspects of integration planning, strategy and execution, balancing four million client accounts to the penny.

Prior to that, he served as Head of eCommerce, leading the digital strategy for web, mobile, social media, market data, and research, after holding TD Ameritrade’s Chief Information Officer position overseeing technology relationship management and project delivery for all business units.

Prior to joining TD Ameritrade, Kostulias was with Datek Online where he held a variety of Operational Management Positions and with Moody’s Investor Services, where he designed and implemented a Global Senior Credit Analyst Professional Development Training Program.

Kostulias is currently the President of the Wall Street Technology Association, previously sat on the FINRA Technology Advisory Committee, and is a graduate of the SIFMA Securities Institute Program at Wharton. Kostulias holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Rutgers University and Series 4, 7, 24 and 63, licenses.

Lee McAdoo, Managing Director, Business Transition

Lee McAdoo has been with TD Ameritrade for 11 years. In her current role, McAdoo supports the CEO and the Senior Operating Committee as Chief of Staff and helps the leadership team manage through business change and transition. Over the years at TD Ameritrade, McAdoo has held leadership positions across the enterprise in Marketing, Retail, Trading and Finance. She ran Investor Education for the firm and led the charge to make the offering more accessible to TD Ameritrade clients and Investors at large by expanding its digital offering including leveraging the first artificial intelligence use case for company.

McAdoo is a passionate advocate for Diversity & Inclusion in the Financial Services industry. Prior to her time at TD Ameritrade, McAdoo worked in Media Sales and Management Consulting. She has an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BA from McGill University.

Tom Nally, President, TD Ameritrade Institutional

Tom Nally oversees the strategy and deployment of initiatives for the Advisor segment at TD Ameritrade. He also serves as a member of the company's Senior Operating Committee, which shapes the strategic focus of the organization.

Tom Nally is responsible for all business functions at TD Ameritrade Institutional. As President of TD Ameritrade Institutional, Nally sets the vision for key initiatives supporting independent Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs), a growing and dynamic segment of the wealth management industry. Nally has more than 20 years of experience working with Advisors and leads a tenured team focused on serving more than 4,500 independent RIAs who custody assets with TD Ameritrade Institutional.

A recognized leader and Advisor advocate, Nally was named to Investment Advisor magazine's annual list of the 25 most influential people in the industry in 2012 and 2014. Under Nally's leadership, TD Ameritrade Institutional has experienced strong growth and has earned accolades for delivering innovative technology to help RIAs run and build their businesses. With a focus on the future, Nally has championed efforts to attract and support the next generation of Advisors including launching the TD Ameritrade Institutional NextGen Scholarship and Grant Program and the TD Ameritrade RIA Intern Network.

Prior to being named president, Nally was responsible for TD Ameritrade Institutional Sales. Nally and his team developed new Advisor relationships and provided practice management and consultative support to help RIAs achieve their business goals. Over his tenure, he has held multiple management positions in various key segments of the business, including responsibility for Trading, Fixed Income, Advisor Relations, Client Service, Advisor Technology, Account Services, and Operations.

Nally graduated from Rider University with a degree in Finance and completed the Securities Industry Institute program at the Wharton School of Business. In 2013, he completed Executive Education coursework at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Nally currently holds Series 7, 8, 24, and 63 licenses.

Jon Peterson, Interim Chief Financial Officer

As Interim Chief Financial Officer, Jon Peterson is responsible for TD Ameritrade’s Investor Relations and Finance Operations, including accounting, business planning and forecasting, supply management, and treasury and asset liability management. He was named to the position in November 2019. Peterson is also a member of the company’s Senior Operating Committee.

Since joining the company in 1996, he has served in a number of Finance and business leadership roles, including director of Analysis Planning and Reporting for the Retail and Institutional lines of business; senior analyst and manager, and broker.

Peterson received his undergraduate degree from Wayne State College and completed the Emerging CFO program at Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Steve Quirk, Executive Vice President,
Trading and Education

Steve Quirk oversees the strategy and deployment of initiatives for Trading at TD Ameritrade. He also serves as a member of the company's Senior Operating Committee, which shapes the strategic focus of the organization.

Under Quirk's leadership, TD Ameritrade debuted the Investor Movement Index® (IMXSM), a proprietary, behavior-based index that aggregates Main Street investor positions and activity. Quirk focuses on teaching the next generation of investors and has championed the creation of the TD Ameritrade U program to bridge the gap between academia and reality.

Prior to his current role, Quirk was responsible for the development of new trading tools and technology enhancements for the thinkorswim® trading platform.

Quirk's trading career began in 1987 on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE). While at the CBOE, he served on the exchange's Index Market Performance Committee and the Arbitration Committee. He was a partner with SCMS for seven years, trading options on index products. He also led the Chicago operations of Van der Moolen USA.

He is often asked to comment on the markets and for insight into Retail client behavior and has been featured on CNBC, Fox Business, Barron's and The Wall Street Journal.

Quirk graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a BBA in Risk/Insurance and Marketing. He holds Series 3, 4, 7, and 24 licenses.

Vijay Sankaran, Chief Information Officer

As Chief Information Officer of TD Ameritrade, Vijay Sankaran is responsible for incubating, introducing, and managing new capabilities, as well as for the implementation of the company's data and analytics ecosystem, including bringing enhanced personalization to the client experience. Sankaran also serves as a member of the company's Senior Operating Committee, which shapes the strategic focus of the organization.

Sankaran's teams are further responsible for two major technology programs at the company: Digital Guidance, which utilizes technology to enhance clients' access to investment advice, and ongoing innovation for the company's award-winning trading platform, thinkorswim®. He leads TD Ameritrade's collaborative technology center in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Prior to joining TD Ameritrade, Sankaran held several senior leadership roles at Ford Motor Company, including: IT Chief Technology Officer, leading advanced technology, technology strategy, data and analytics, and architecture across the enterprise; Director of Application Development, with responsibility for global application development and the delivery of major programs and projects; and Director of Infrastructure Operations, with responsibility for operational support for infrastructure, as well as Ford's largest data centers in North America. Before joining Ford, Sankaran served in consultancy roles with Ernst & Young LLP and Headstrong, where he focused heavily on analytical systems.

Sankaran holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a master's degree of Business Administration from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business.

Andrew Yolin, Interim Chief Marketing Officer

As Interim Chief Marketing Officer, Andrew Yolin and his team of marketers design strategies that enhance TD Ameritrade's client relationships and drive business results. With a focus on advertising and brand, client communications, promotions, market research, and marketing analytics, the team provides centralized marketing support for the company's retail, trader and institutional lines of business.

Yolin was named to his current role in September 2019 and is a member of the company's Senior Operating Committee. Before his promotion, he served 9 years with the company as a marketing strategist and planner. Prior to joining TD Ameritrade, Yolin was a marketer and product manager at American Express, L’Oreal Paris and several non-profits. He has an MBA from Columbia University and a B.S. from Binghamton University.
